December 2019
Our herbaceous borders continue to show their grandeur in a light morning frost.
November 2016
Our wonderful herbaceous borders on the west side of the sunken lawn are now complete. As you may know we planted the left hand bed in 2015, which was greatly admired in its first year, and then started work preparing the right hand bed over the 2015/2016 winter. With all old stock plants removed, and some sold on to villagers, we then set-to with a number of volunteers in spring 2016 to plant up using the same scheme as the left hand bed. Both beds have put on tremendous growth through the 2016 summer. Our task now in November 2016 is to put the borders to bed for the winter, which is almost finished. We are really pleased with how these ’prairie planted borders’ now look and I must thank Hugh and Rosie Parry for their design and planting works to achieve such a wonderful look in the Moot Gardens. Our volunteers have continued to keep them in great shape since. Do please go and have a look for yourselves, just go in through the main gate entrance off Moot Lane, climb the stone stairs and feast your eyes on the borders backed by the tall brick wall.
