The aftermath of Storm Katie brought blustery conditions on Easter Monday this year, but the intermittent squally showers didn’t deter those eager to gather chocolate eggs from the sunken lawn. In what is a wonderful village event , the annual Easter Egg Hunt brings together families and friends of all ages as the children gather eggs nestling in the long grass. The Moot provides a wonderful backdrop to the event – introducing the Moot to those families unaware of its myriad paths and rolling banks. The volunteers work hard all year to keep the Moot maintained and it was wonderful to see the sunken lawn packed with families. Refreshments were curtailed this year due to the weather, but we raised in excess of £600 thanks to the kind donation of the Easter eggs.
