This year was the first time the Downton Moot has had it’s own stall at the village Cuckoo Fair. As a perfect opportunity for all Downton charities to benefit from the influx of people into the village – it seemed one not-to-be-missed by the Moot. Coupled with the kind offer of the great position opposite the café – the Committee decided to offer a vegetarian option to passers-by! Delicious vegetarian tagine made by Jules Osmond, and served with herbs and olives, and pitta bread, with hot mint tea, was sold out. There was also a plethora of mouth-watering home-made cakes and biscuits and on another table a fantastic array of plants. We will definitely be repeating this exercise at next year’s Cuckoo Fair.
