The sun shone, the Downton Jubilee Brass Hat Band played beautifully at the top of the steps, the cakes were delicious and Peter Rabbit and his friends appeared out of the trees and bushes and had lots of adventures to the sound of a lone fiddle.
It was a great afternoon.
